The relationship between cells and their relative locations within a tissue sample can be critical to understanding mechanisms of human disease, developing therapeutic interventions, and evaluating the basis of therapeutic response in clinical trials. The Visium Spatial Gene Expression Solution allows researchers to measure total gene activity in a fresh-frozen tissue section and map where that activity is occurring in the morphological context of the tissue, which overcomes the limitations of traditional tools that rely on a few validated antibodies. With an efficient and intuitive workflow, Visium Spatial Solutions can aid numerous clinical translational research applications, including:
  • Biomarker discovery: identify gene signatures associated with disease progression or drug response/resistance, and the cells that express them.
  • Engineered immune cell therapy: evaluate target antigen expression and monitor immune cell infiltration, activation, and efficacy in solid tumors.
  • CDx and clinical trial development: improve stratification for companion diagnostics and clinical trials.
