Now available: High-throughput, automation-friendly single cell workflow

Single cell sequencing has become a standard tool in biological research, offering deep insights across diverse cell populations.

The Chromium advantage ensures your workflows aren't as complex as the biology you’re studying. Our instrument-supported assays automate cell partitioning, which minimizes manual error introduced by pipetting.

Now, with our automation-friendly single cell library prep kit you can confidently ramp up your sample prep with the Beckman Coulter Life Sciences Biomek i7 Hybrid Workstation—a high-throughput liquid handler from a global leader in automation—with the same robust results you are used to with GEM-X technology.

A robust workflow with reduced hands-on time built to scale with your studies

Automated library construction with our single cell library prep kit and the Biomek i7 Hybrid workstation combine proven single cell performance with automation excellence to enable you to:

  • Prepare sequencing-ready libraries from dozens of samples at once with <1 hr of hands-on-time, compared to up to 7.5 hours manually
  • Automate and scale your studies based on your experimental needs with consistent results across users of different experience levels
  • Access deep cellular insights with the same proven performance of our tried-and-trusted manual workflows

Standard Chromium workflows are instrument-supported for superior performance

  • Automate the most critical steps of your workflow for more reproducible results and a lower risk of manual error than with instrument-less methods
  • Achieve consistent performance with an R² value of 0.97 across runs, users, and timepoints

Automated, high-throughput library construction reduces hands-on time, not quality

Analysis of human PBMCs with GEM-X Universal Assays (only 3’  shown here) using the automation-compatible Library Construction Kit C resulted in comparable median genes and transcripts (UMIs) per cell compared to manual workflows.

Consistent cell profiling between manual and automated workflows

Cell profiles and distributions generated from analysis of human PBMCs with automated workflows identified major immune cell populations, consistent with results from manual workflows and across three independent automated runs.

An automated workflow developed in collaboration with a global-leader

We teamed up with Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a world leader in automation, to develop an automated workflow compatible with the Biomek i7 Hybrid Workstation workflow, a high-throughput liquid handler.

Biomek i7 Hybrid Workstation Compatibility

Engineered to optimize efficiency and reproducibility, the Biomek i7 Hybrid Workstation is a versatile liquid handling platform for high throughput applications. Integrated on deck devices to support GEM-X library construction include:

  • Automated Thermal Cycler (ATC): enjoy hands-free automation with a built-in adapter for 96-well plates
  • Heating/Cooling ColdPlates (CP96, CP1): achieve precise reagent heating and cooling, optimized for consistent results
  • On-deck shaking: simplify your process with efficient foil seal piercing on the Dual Index plate, plus orbital shaking on the DeepWell bead aliquot plate
